PGMA to sign Cheap Meds Bill as soon as it reaches Malacanang – Bunye

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will sign the Cheap Medicines Bill as soon as it is submitted to Malacanang.
Thus assured Press Secretary Ignacio R. Bunye in his briefing yesterday (May 8, Thursday) with the Malacanang Press Corps.
“We can assure you that as soon as the enrolled bill reaches the President, she will sign this measure,” stressed Bunye as he pointed out that the final copy of the bill has not yet reached the palace.
“That was confirmed by Senate President (Manuel) Villar as of this morning (May 8). So, nandoon pa sa kanila (Senate).”
PNP, CHR ink MoA on human rights advocacy campaign

Camp Bgen Oscar M Florendo, La Union -- A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed between the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Region 1 and the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) to uphold the preservation of human rights in the region.
In a simple ceremony held at People's Hall in San Fernando Ciy, La Union, Ilocos region police director, Chief Superintendent Romeo C. Hilomen represented the PNP; while lawyer Anita M. Chauhan, CHR regional director, represented the human rights group.
The MOA signing was coincided with the Stakeholder's Forum sponsored by the CHR-Region 1, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and National Economic Development Administration (NEDA) in Region 1.
