MEDIA POOL

Space limitations and security reasons restrict most official events to a certain number of media personnel. Coverage of said events will be under a media pool scheme. Each country will be allocated with a limited number of media pool passes with the understanding that media representatives will share coverage material with their colleagues, once requested. Media pools will gather at the IMC’s Pool Staging Area before proceeding to designated positions.

Detailed information on pool composition and pool coverage plan will be provided by the Media Liaison Officers (MLO) as soon as the schedule of meetings are finalized.

MEDIA REQUEST FORM

In order to address the need of the media for interviews and statements from various key people, we are providing a MEDIA REQUEST FORM to be filled out by media representatives who wish to secure a scheduled interview or cover other side events such as bilateral talks and signing of agreements between countries, which are normally not open for media.

These requests will be forwarded to the Country Liaison Officer concerned for approval. The Philippine Liaison Officers and Philippine Media Liaison Officers will be facilitating the request in their behalf.

Media Liaison Officers

Each participating country will be assigned a Philippine Media Liaison Officer who will coordinate with the country’s designated officer (counterpart) regarding possible media briefings, press information and other requirements pertaining to the press. Each country is required to inform the Media and Communications Secretariat of names, contact numbers, and e-mail addresses of its designated Media Liaison Officer.

CUSTOM CLEARANCE

Media representatives bringing equipment to the Philippines must complete the Declaration of Media Equipment for Customs Entry Form when applying for media accreditation.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURE

Airport Assistance

A courtesy lane for ASEAN delegates will be provided in Manila and Pampanga airports to assist the arriving media and facilitate the customs arrangement for their equipment. Media representatives who will be bringing in equipment must have a custom’s declaration form and a complete equipment list.
